about
The song “Breathe Underwater” was born through diving. Ever since my first dive in 2008 I knew I was hooked on being a mermaid.
I became obsessed with sun seeking and more importantly looking for the perfect dive in an underwater world full of marine life and coral.
Growing up in Australia, I was practically born by the ocean, spending every summer and season in between by the seaside.
I like the idea of leaving it up to the listener to decide whether I'm singing from a scuba divers point of view or whether it's a siren/mermaids song.
For those that have dived before, you'll understand the calmness and impressiveness that comes from being 40m below the surface. I hope this song can convey how truly beautiful it is in this mysterious blue world beneath the waves.
lyrics
Oceans underneath, it's so much better
hoping for relief, in all this salt
and sand gives way to deep
you know it's where I'm free
I am, I'm under the sun
it makes me
makes me want to run
this world feels
it feels like a gun
and I am, I am not made for fun
Breathe underwater, and breathe
deep dark and clear, you'll breathe
Into the ocean. This saltwater sphere
Let go of fears
sink or swim, come, and find your sea legs,
while I shed my skin, but I'm aware
that you're without a fin
don't worry I'm right here
I am, I'm under the sun
it makes me
makes me want to run
this world feels
it feels like a gun
and I am, I am not made for fun
Breathe underwater, and breathe
deep dark and clear, you'll breathe
Into the ocean. This saltwater sphere
Let go of fears x2
Bridge interlude
Breathe underwater, and breathe
deep dark and clear, you'll breathe
Into the ocean. This saltwater sphere
Let go of fears x2
